5 Tips on How To Reinvent Yourself

Note to reader:
I know this is scary and not only do you doubt yourself, you may wonder: well what if I do become too successful? What if the people I love the most don’t like it? What if I outgrow the people whom I’m closest to? Or things change way too much way too fast? These are all common and unnecessary intrusive thoughts! What if maybe just maybe you inspire those around you! What if the people around you, love you so much that they are actually super supportive of your success! Success which by the way means having many resources. Imagine in how many ways that would impact them positively!

When starting your journey you will have to overcome your limiting beliefs by reminding yourself every second of everyday to chose a different thought. But the great news is that with practice it will become second nature to you! Before you know it, you will have adopted a more positive growth mindset!
So yes it is scary but I promise it is worth it. The growth you achieve will make you so proud and remember no one can take an experience away from you. Please keep that in mind. So let’s get started!

1. Notice people you admire
Start paying close attention to people you admire. Who are they, what are their values? What lifestyle do they have, and what exactly attracts you to it? Is it their career, style, personality? Notice within yourself what calls you about them. What aspect of them, their habits, or their life would you want for yourself? Would you want to be more free in the way you dress? Would you like to be more fearless in pursing things you’re passionate about? Would you like to have a more fit body or be more outgoing? Do you admire the way they speak or bravely constantly post online? Sometimes we are drawn to people for a reason.

Maybe it has to do with getting closer to your purpose or closer to a more authentic version of yourself. Maybe the universe is giving you hint about your future self and how some aspect of this person’s life is or has something to do with your future life. Whatever you are being drawn to I would highly suggest exploring it.

2. Trace your steps
Is there anything you always wanted to try but were too scared to? What was it? What exactly scared you about it? Is it a reasonable fear or a mental one? Do you really want to die without trying it? If the answer is no then it might be worth a shot. I don’t know who has to read this but it’s NEVER too late.

When was the last time you felt aligned? When was the last time you felt alive?? What were you doing and where and with who? Write all these things down, maybe even journal about them so you can reference later. When was the last time you were excited about your life? What were you doing then? What was sparking your joy then? What was inspiring you or who or what habits? Write down as much detail as you can remember. What was easy about life? What was working for you? Who were you being? This can be in regards to anything in your life it can be as simple as your hair or style or routine.

I remember the first time I signed up for the gym because my friend practically forced me so I could join her; I started working with a trainer (a friend helping me for free, bless his soul) I felt so extremely confident for that period of my life. Maybe it was my newly super toned body or the fact that I was attending a gym for the first time in my life but I just remember feeling such confidence in my in body in my own skin. That led to an immense belief in myself.

Another thing  that had worked for me tremendously is cutting my hair off. Going from long hair to a super short (jawline short) bob cut is just so liberating and exhilarating at the same time . And having the courage to think it’s just hair and it will grow back is incredible powerful for me. Now I’m not saying go chop off your hair lol unless you’ve been wanting too of course!

3. What did you love doing as a kid?
What were your talents as a kid? Were you one of those cool kids in a sports team? How was that experience for you? Did you love it? Were you in dance classes? What would it feel like to join maybe a hip hop class once or twice a week? Imagine what that would do for your inner child! Did you love coloring or painting?? You can join a paint class or even just get your self an adult coloring book from amazon and just sit and color and see what that does for you. Notice what comes up and how you feel. Take note if maybe it might be worth reintegrating into your life!

I understand not everyone was an outgoing child with talents. I wasn’t for sure. I think I was constantly feeling scared. I didn’t join sports and picking up hobbies is not something I was taught at home. But something I always loved as a kid was having super cute journals, cute stationary things, coloring, I always loved to read it made me feel smart. I also went through a phase of wigs lol it was so fun because I can become a different person by changing my hair. It was silly but very endearing to remember.

On the other hand unfortunately sometimes people did have talents and habits that they had to abandon because life got too serious or for whatever  reason. If this is you maybe now is the time re-explore what brought you joy!

4. Try new things!
This is an exciting thing to do! Getting to know the new you, rediscover who you were or would be without social validation from your peers. This is a magical moment in your life so please treat it as such. Coming back to yourself or recreating yourself is honoring yourself but also taking charge of your life! Make it special you are so worthy! This is a great opportunity for change so please go crazy(responsibly)
change your style, hair, job, career, city, state, boyfriend, girlfriend.

Get creative and brutally honest with yourself. Ask your self, in a perfect world who would I want to be, do, have, look like… fill in the blank. This is also a great time for you to take inventory of the people in you life. Do they cheer you on or do you have to walk on egg shells around them? Are you excited to share good new with them or are you hesitant? Do they align with the life you want to create? Do they respect your boundaries? And if you don’t have boundaries in place now is a great time to create them!! This is tricky because if you have had a friend for 10 plus years but they want to party every weekend. And your all time dream is to commit to your gym body and start a pod cast about it, you will have to make a decision. And I need you to know it is perfectly ok to out grow people! You don’t have to feel bad and it doesn’t have to be a horrible thing. Maybe they too will find friends that have the same hobbies!

This is about you creating this new authentic you. This is your moment to be extremely selfish. So be brave and be bold! Sign up for classes, meet new people, make new friends with similar interest or people that inspire you! Sign up for anything that sparks your interest or anything random even better! Put yourself out there and watch what amazing magical things start to unfold for you!

5. Challenge your old self!
If there is anything you “would never do” like be the first to volunteer in a group activity or go watch a movie alone; DO IT !!!!!! Not only are you creating a new version of yourself but you will also gain so much confidence by getting out of your comfort zone !!! I’ve done sales for years and one thing I learned is to get out of my comfort zone and be totally fine with getting rejected over and over and over lol. Challenge your old self every chance you get if she couldn’t commit to the gym, commit to the gym. Hire a trainer if you need too!

If she was an introvert (don’t believe in labels but some people like them) talk to strangers, smile at them! This is another great way of boosting your confidence by the way. Do things you are scared to do!!! This could be anything from getting on a roller coaster to starting that social media page you’ve be thinking about starting. Going back to school or quitting your job you hate are other examples. Some fears are of course valid but most fears we create in our heads and if you think your future self would be proud of you overcoming said fear take that as a sign! Lastly, love yourself more than ever before and give yourself grace!

Finally:

Who do you want to be ? Who have you dreamt of being? If you can start over where no one knows you who would you be? What kind of life would you live? Where would you live, be specific city/state, condo, house? What would your hobbies be? What routines would you have if any? What would you do for a living or for a passion project? How would you speak? How would you carry yourself? How would you dress? What would your diet be? What kind of friends would you have? What kind of partner would you have? What would your relationships be like? What would your day to day look like? What would you value and prioritize?

Great News ! You can reinvent yourself right now this second !!!! Without moving somewhere new where no one knows you, unless of course you’re up for that challenge(;

P.s I recommend you get your journal out and answer all these questions in great detail. Write down every thing every memory be as descriptive as possible and don’t over think it. Then if you want to go an extra step, close your eyes and visualize it and feel how you would feel! Really feel it!  I wish you an abundance of courage and bliss in creating the new you !

With all my love,

Xo

Inspired By My Younger Self

When I was 21 years old I was the bravest girl I knew. I was so fearless, I had the mindset and belief that I can do anything. No matter what, I always found a way to accomplish my goals. I also worked in sales so I have to admit that might have contributed to my confidence. I am so proud of that girl. 8 years later I still constantly think of her, that young fearless version of myself. If I am going through something I wonder what would she would do? And if I’m feeling small for whatever reason I try to embody her. It’s funny that as my older self I’m still so inspired by her.

I don’t know if that’s good or bad. I don’t think that it’s about me living in the past because that’s not where I want to be. I am very present and love the life I have created for myself. I think it’s more like I feel motivated by that version of myself. To be my best self, to make her proud. Like my inspiration. She worked and went to school, got good grades, brought a house, hiked Runyon Canyon up and down like nothing. She had a great social life. During the summer she had the most fun in Hollywood Blvd, Downtown Los Angeles, Mexico; Cabo, Ensenada, Las Vegas. There was no stopping her.

Very heavy things happened to me within those 8 years at times I got so lost and detached from that fearless girl that it didn’t even feel like that was me. I finally decided no more and I took a step back, I took a hard look at my life and decided to take my power back. I no longer  recognize myself. I knew I had to make my way back to me. I felt like that version of me would never be in that situation. Or at least she would handle it much better, with courage. So with the fearless, strong, confident, young version of myself in mind I slowly  came back to myself.

That does not go to say that I haven’t done amazing things since then. I have transformed myself into someone I truly love. I have created a life for myself that I love and I’m proud of. I heavily edited my life regularly. I live a purposeful life. I have made mediation, yoga, and journaling a part of my daily routine. I am pescatarian/mostly plant based and focus on eating and using clean products. I travel the world like I always dreamt of. I created passive income for myself. I always follow my heart. I do what I love. I finally moved to a different state to experience a different way of life. I created this blog to inspire anyone that reads it. But all very much inspired by my younger self.

What I’m saying is that you must create a version of yourself you are proud of and inspired by. That you can reference when going through challenging times. If that has not been the case for you and you don’t see yourself doing this find a mentor, a person you can look up to. That you can use as your inspiration. How would they react to something? How would they carry themselves? What would they say? Would they be brave? How?

Whether you use a version of yourself or a mentor, embody them. Start acting like them, talking like them, carry yourself how they would carry themselves. Slowly you will become that version of yourself. You can decide right now who you want to be. If that seems out of reach for you, start by embodying what you want to become. Remember you are the creator of your life. You decide who you are and how your story goes. So be your best self, whatever that may mean to you.

With all the love,

Starting Over or Just starting.

For as long as I can remember I wanted to move away from home, start somewhere new become a new version of myself. Get completely out of my comfort zone. I longed for that day to come. And at 29 years old when I thought that ship had sailed I finally did it! Almost out of nowhere my boyfriend and I found the courage to pack up and leave from Los Angeles, CA to Portland, OR.</p I am in shock most days. I can’t believe we finally did it. My dream to leave “the valley” finally came true and I haven’t felt this free in years. We live in this gorgeous new building waterfront ! This place is so beautiful I have to pinch myself. At times I freak out and think, omg this is so different from the life I’m used to. And I worry I will get bored. But at the same time all I ever wanted was I experience a totally different way of life.

I have no idea what I will do here for a living. I have no idea how I will react to the winter time when there is rain for months and snow. Although I’ve been eagerly waiting for fall. I don’t know what will come from this experience but I am so excited to find out. I’m so excited to discover who will I be. What will I do? Will I love it and stay? Will I get over it and try another state? I wondered would I run back home at the end of my lease. I’ve been here for almost a month and it’s becoming clear to me already that going back home after my lease is not very probable. A different state however, maybe.

The point of this blog post is to remind you that right here, right now, at whatever age you are or whatever you’re doing in life at this very moment, you can start over. You can switch jobs, get out of a relationship that no longer helps you grow, go back to school, learn something new, start a business. Do whatever you always wanted to do!!! I’m begging you take a leap of faith on yourself because you are worth it! You only have one life. Please run after your dreams and goals because no one else can do it for you. And you owe it to yourself. Think of yourself as a child, wouldn’t you do anything to make that child happy? SO DO IT !!!!!

As we get older we start getting so serious about life unfortunately. I don’t know who needs to hear this but love yourself. Be brave! Only 5 second of courage can completely change your life for the better. So please do that thing you have always wanted to do. That thing you can’t stop thinking about no matter how many months or years go by! And if you don’t know what that is but know you need something new, give yourself grace to find out! Try new things say yes to things you would normally say no to. Get out there! Talk to strangers smile at them! Remember that you are surrounded by endless opportunities at all times! You are capable of more than you can imagine. You just have to have the courage to follow your heart.

So I humbly encourage you to run after your heart like there’s no tomorrow because after all it’s not promised so why wait?

Follow Your Bliss:

I  think we have been conditioned to go to school, get a job, get married, have kids and buy a house. Work your entire life to pay for that house  in a good safe job that pays you enough to keep you there. I completely understand that sometimes life happens and maybe you feel you are doing what you have to do which I get. I want you to know that there’s always another way. The problem is most people don’t believe they are worthy and entitled to a better life. You deserve to live your best life whatever that may mean to you! It is your birth right!I refuse to think that is it. I refuse to die while being alive. I want to live fully and I want to live with purpose. I know I am capable of so much more and I owe it to myself to make the best out of the only life I get! Because why not?

In our society it’s frowned upon to fail. It’s frowned upon to go into a different career and discover it’s not something you want to do and proceed to try something totally different! Like going from being a doctor to becoming a yoga teacher. I can’t believe this absurdity (if that’s a word) is normalized !!!!! What !!! You should definitely be trying different careers and jobs and things to know what you actually like and what you don’t! Just the way you wouldn’t marry the first person and you date to find “the one”. Just the way you stop dating someone if it is no longer working out you should be able to walk away from jobs or careers that no longer interest you!! I genuinely believe that in life you should be doing what you love for a living! Why is that not the standard?? Why is that not taught in schools?

Obviously this is not the case for everyone, I have met people that work in an office cubical and are content about it. They appreciate having a stable paycheck and being able to just cruise through the work day by clocking in and out when they have to.

I’m referring to those that are trying to convince themselves to stay at a job they hate because of their benefits. Or because they just need to continue paying their bills(which is valid). They know they have other hobbies/talents that can maybe contribute to society in a positive way. They know they are capable of so much more. They know how alive they feel while doing this said hobby/talent/skill. If you know what makes you feel alive I say run after it like there’s no tomorrow! DO it please, you owe it to the world. You never know who may be in need for that skill you have or that book you haven’t written!

For those who know you are capable of more but don’t know what your passion is, it’s time to find it! Give yourself grace and permission to try new things, you may be interested in. Only by trying it will you determine if it’s for you or not. If there’s anything that you feel called to, for some reason, or keeps coming up, try it! Get out of your comfort zone get out there try and do things you haven’t before. Become confident by getting in the habit of trying new things and taking risks. Only then will you discover more about yourself and your values. Join a group, take a class, meet people that are already doing it. Learn something new, challenge yourself with a goal you have to work towards. Have fun finding things you didn’t even know you would enjoy or maybe even things you forgot you enjoy so much.

This is your reminder that life is supposed to be fun and joyous everyday. Not just on the weekends or when you retire. Find what makes your soul dance. Find what you love. Re-discover yourself and enjoy the process. Have grace and an open mind. Know that it is more than ok to fail and start over anytime. As many times as needed. This is your story, this is your life. What would you like to create? How would you like your story to go? What would you feel proud of accomplishing in a genuine way? If you could not fail what would you do?

Guide to Journaling

If you are reading this, chances are you need to vent or you are desperate to find clarity or maybe you are just curious on how to start manifesting by journalling. Whatever the reason may be I am so happy you have become interested in journalling I am confident it will create miracles for you like it did for me. I will describe in detail my exact journalling routine. I hope you get some good ideas and whatever doesn’t work for you or feels like too much please feel free to disregard. I have also highlighted the sections in case you want to skip around you can do so.

How I set the mood:

Setting the mood to journal is essential for me. I love setting the vibe by cleaning my desk and room if needed. I love having flowers on the desk with a clear vase those are my favorite. I get my coffee/tea ready with my favorite mug that is pink and or has a super inspiring quote. So every time I look over at it I get inspired all over. I light my favorite candle usually something with lavender, spearmint, eucalyptus, or vanilla.

At what time:

I love to journal in the morning something about waking up doing my bed, cleaning my room and journaling gives me this great sense of accomplishment. I just love starting my day like this it feels like i’m setting myself up for a great day.

What mindset must I have: (This one is important)

The great thing about journaling in the morning is your mind is impressionable so your gratitude will be more effective. You wake up and you don’t have any bad thoughts about the day because it hasn’t happened. In the morning I believe your mind is more prone to accept without much question information you feed it. So your mantras have a better chance of sticking to your subconscious.

Specific pen, journal:

I like to journal with a blue or red pen. But your favorite pen or any pen will do! When it comes to journaling I am particular I love to chose a journal the pages have to be an off white color they can not be white! Why idk i love how the off white pages look it feel so genuine like I’m writing in the old days or something. For journals I love to pick a fun color or one has a fun word, quote or picture. I have to love the way it looks.

How I Start journal:

I usually start with mantras whatever i am going through at the moment I like to just make myself feel good by writing something powerful that just reinforces my belief system. Maybe if i know I’ve been having thoughts of lack and limiting beliefs about money I start by writing some madras about changing my energy around money.

Journal Prompts:

I always journal about things I’m thankful for. I start by  writing all the things I am thankful for having in my life at this moment. (For example I’m thankful for my coffee, my bed, the heated seats in my car)I then proceed to feel grateful for things I want to have in my life that I might not physically have yet. But I envision myself having it. I write down in detail how would I would feel, how I would act and what it would look like having this in my life. I write many details I also envision my self doing something (For example once I was manifesting an LV bag I would literally envision myself wearing it while exiting my car and walking in my house).Another example is when manifesting a trip to Fiji I would envision myself there, doing yoga and write in great detail how thankful I was for this moment. This really helps me imagine myself more vividly doing or having the things I desire.

Mantras I use:

I have many mantras I love and usually change them depending on what I’m going through or find new ones and incorporate in a way that feels good to me inside. Some of my all time favorites are:

The universe is always bringing all good things to me

Money is standard and easy

Everything always works out for me

Life is so easy for me.

I am enough, I am worthy I am deserving,

It is safe for me to successful and wealthy

I am deserving of all my desires

All i desire, I manifest easy and fast

I am abundant I am wealthy

I have multiple sources of income

Anything can change at any time

I am worthy of happiness

The better it gets, the better it gets

I am magnetic to money

I create my reality

It’s already mine

I already have everything i need

I am surrounded by endless opportunities

I am a vibrational match for money

It is safe for me … (fill in the blank)

I am safe, I am safe, I am safe. (when my anxiety wants to show up uninvited)

How frequent I journal:

I journal every single day, sometimes for a few minutes sometimes for up to an hour. Sometimes multiple times a day if I’m feeling called to write down mantras I’m thinking.

In conclusion:

I hope this post has inspired you to get your thoughts on paper to realize you can actually do anything and have anything you desire. You are so worthy. Always remember that your thoughts are so powerful, more than you can imagine and they create your reality. Journaling completely changed my life and helped me manifest things I did not think possible. I started journaling very skeptical but I told myself I had absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. I just needed clarity. The more I got into it the more I started to believe my mantras were true and that made me feel so happy and that maybe I wasn’t stuck and that maybe there were opportunities out there for me that I was not yet aware of. I wish you all the success in journaling your thoughts, feelings, and goals/dreams. Happy journaling !

With all my Love,

Xochilt
